C’est une nouvelle génération de tests sanguins portables qui va bientôt entrer sur le marché. Omini avance ainsi sur sa solution visant à surveiller les insuffisances cardiaques et leur évolution. Certes, des outils existent déjà, sur un marché très compétitif, mais le souhait de la start-up est que les patients soient plus proactifs, et pour cela, l’équipe met au point des tests faciles d’utilisation, y compris à domicile, et surtout, connectés, afin de transmettre dans l’instant les résultats des marqueurs sanguins aux professionnels de santé. Des bandelettes basées sur une technologie de biocapteurs permettent en effet de détecter les marqueurs sanguins et un lecteur portatif lit le signal des bandelettes et affiche les résultats. Ce lecteur est connecté pour l’envoi des données.
La philosophie d’Omini s’appuie donc sur une meilleure compréhension des enjeux de la part du patient, acteur de sa santé et sur une médecine plus personnalisée et connectée, le tout afin de réduire les réhospitalisations, puisque 30% sont dues à l’insuffisance cardiaque.
L’action, c’est le fort des deux fondatrices d’Omini, Joanne Kanaan et Anna Shirinskaya. Elles pensent d’ailleurs déjà à de futurs axes, sous forme d’investigation pour l’instant, afin de diversifier leur portefeuille de produits. En plus d’élargir sa gamme de produits, Omini songe déjà à passer les frontières. Mais avant cela, la medtech aura accru ses effectifs, de neuf salariés actuellement, à une vingtaine, elle aura obtenu les certifications nécessaires à la mise sur le marché des tests, et bien sûr, elle aura convaincu l’écosystème, dont les prescripteurs, des bienfaits de ses outils.
